Skeletal Executioner

Skeletal Executioners are a type of undead seen in the Diablo III demo at BlizzCon 2008. They are the latest revealed member of the ever-increasing Skeletal Horde.

Skeletal Executioners look like the stereotypical executioners from the inquisition. They wear tattered hoods and huge shoulder pads, and drag a huge double-edged axe that causes sparks to fly behind them as it is dragged on the ground.

It is not clear how, though many monsters of this type can be found in groups like regular Skeleton Warriors and Archers, since Executioners are not known to be very social people, often preferring to work alone rather than in groups. But the newest entrant in the Skeleton family has some new skills up his sleeve. He possesses incredible strength, being able to swing the huge axes causing massive damage. The sparks they cause when dragging their weapon may indicate an additional chance to cause lightning damage on their target, but it's more likely to be purely cosmetic.
